i need more power

Does anybody know some cheap ways i can give my 97 2.3L 4cylinder ranger more horsepower or make it have more throtlle response. Or is there something expensive i should invest in to get more power?

I don't think there is just one thing to make it all powerfull.Header,cam,porting,Escort flywheel or aftermarket for reduced rotating mass.Are all things to improve apon from stock.To give it more snap.

the cheapest way to get more power is to treat it like a runner... it's gotta breathe, anything you can do to help it inhaile and exhaile will help...
