Shift Kits
Have any of you used a shift kit in your 4R44E? I'm looking at one from Trans Go. Probably replace the servo at the same time.
I have 107k on this one, with regular fluid changes and a trans cooler many miles ago. Lately, the 2-3 upshift is getting a little lazy. Seems to be OK in town, but it has a perceptible delay under hard throttle. It doesn't slip, overdrive is good, it acts like a valve is hanging just a tad. When it shifts, it goes firmly into gear. Kicks down just fine. TPS and Speed sensor check out OK on the diagnostics.
Had the band adjusted today, not much difference, but I want to get this changed before it gives me trouble. Prevention and all that jazz.
I'll let you guys know if it makes a big difference. I've never been real crazy about this electronic transmission. I like the mechanical/vacuum units better. When a tranny shifts, I like to feel it snap into gear, not take all day to go about it.
This is a truck, dang it, not a stinkin Caddy or Lincoln. It needs to feel like a truck.
