i bought a pair of Irish Setter ( red wings ) hunting boots for $176.00 ( yeah im crazy to pay that much ) they are 1600 grams of thinsulate, and they cant keep these boots on the shelf so i figured id better buy the last pair of 11's even though i wear size 12... all they had left were size 8 now. but the 11a fit ok.
so they are for deer hunting, and they have the new boot smell.... rubber and leather which you can smell a mile away.
any tips on getting rid of that smell?? i dont want to leave them on the back deck to air out, ill never see them again
cant you get some of that scent lock spray stuff. i helped a friend put up his deer stand and we sprayed somethin like that on our boots. it just smelled like dirt basically.
Why in the world would you want to get rid of new boot smell? I think that would make a good perfume.
Yeah, I would really like the new boot smell rather than an OLD boot smell!
Sorry, the shot was there, had to take it.
Along the lines of what rebel_ford said, you could use liquid scent (such as earth/dirt) and make sure you leave the boot in a plastic bag for a couple of days so the scent you apply soaks in rather than evaporates away.
Not to get off the topic of smells here but I bought a pair of Red Wings not long ago and I will never buy another kind of boot ever again. They are extremely and stand up to some serious punishment that I give them at my job.
