I want to replace the stock drum brakes with disc brakes and I don't know how to go about doing this.
If you have a straight axle up front you pretty much have 2 choices, expensive kit, or front clip (partial frame) swap. Might be another, but those are the two I know of.
i think the kits start at about 400. you can search this site and it will tell yu everything you need to know, with nice pictures to back it up.i`ve read postshere about grafting an aerostar clip into your frame.the advantage of going this route is that you can also pick up power or rack and pinion steering as well.i hope this helps you...........wayne
I just reiceved my conversion kit form Engineered Components, Inc. It look good, use 73 - 93 Ford rotor and 71 - 76 Chey calipers. The basic kit is $110.00. Caliper are costly to ship. You will also need to change the out bearing and inner seal and use a Chevy flex line. Hope this helps.
All in need to do now is figure out how to convert to power brakes.
Dads Truck.
The basic kit only comes with the brackets and hardware to mount them. Rotors, calipers, bearings and seals can be purchaces at your local part jobber.
