ABS light
i have a 2000 ford explorer..
at this time i am having no problems with the brakes..they seem to be working fine...but the light is on..
i've checked the brake fluid, the fuses..all is fine..
was hoping someone could tell me how to pull the codes..or where i could start to fix the problem.......also tried disconnecting the battery to clear codes...did not work..
thanks
My '94 Explorer had about 115,000 miles on it when this began. I swapped the ABS relay with the fuel pump relay on another occasion when the truck wouldn't start and I could not hear the fuel pump working. At the time the ABS light was not on. The fuel pump began working and the truck started. The ABS light did not come on either. I went to the Ford dealer and purchased 2 new relays to replace the ABS and fuel pump relays. I have not had either problem since (about seven months). Also the parts person a the dealership said all the relays were the same (EEC, fuel pump, ABS, etc ...). Not a very scientific way of troubleshooting but the truck has been doing fine since... Except for a recent fuel guage issue. If it's not one thing, it's two.
