Ok...so can you do anything with the power behind the coin holder originally meant for the 4X4 switch?
In other words, can I use it to power my sirius radio or should I just stick with the advice I've seen here and tap off of the radio power?
Thanks....
I have not tested the amp/voltage with the unused 4X4 switch wiring, therefore I cannot offer a true guidance on the use of the power from the 4X4 switch wiring.
However, since I flushed mounted my coin holder I have chosen another route. I now have a tranny temp guage inserted in the hole that used to hold the coin holder. Very convenient and an extra aid, especially for those towing loads any distance. A serach of this site will turn up a explanitory thread on the mounting and insertion of the tranny temp guage.
I was thinking since this coinholder hole is really a dummy for the 4x4 switch and no one has figured out if it has any voltage....maybe if I disconnect these wires and twist them together, I could then have 4x4, you think?

I am thinking about installing a boost gauge in there. Does that mean I have turbo?
On that iPod note...i bet if somebody was really handy, you could make the coin holder flush, then add a USB port/dock connection to it and simply plug in the iPod shuffle and play it thru the AUX adapter...now that would be pretty cool.
Here is the coin holder in question, it's the round black thing to the left of the radio. Mine is a 4x2 so I don't think there are any wires behind there.
Ok what am I doing wrong to post this picture?

Ok here is the picture I was trying to put up. Like I said before it's the round black thing to the left of the radio. Or I guess it's more to the left of the climate controls.
I believe that is where the buttons go to control the dash information center. Example mpg. timer, miles left until empty. If it is to the right of the steering wheel thats what it is.
