My beard grows so slow that I look like a hobo by the 5th day! I knew a guy in the Army that could have shaved twice a day and still got dirty looks.

I have had mine for......30 years. I only shaved it off once when I had to go out to an off shore oil platform for 3 trips. I took care of that when I quit.

I got suspended from the 10th grade (1968)> you do the math< because I refused to shave! Except for three years, three months and nine days, (while in the Army, "kept my mustache") I've always had a beard!

I never miss a day. I'll even shave on a Saturday before going fishing. Got that from my old man. He started every day with a shave, regardless of what he was going to do.

I have one off and on throughout the year bad I usally let it get longer when it gets colder and I trim it less in the winter too, of course the north pole likes to visit in the winter around hear so thats a good reason for a mug warmer.

Winter whiskers here. I grow it out sometime in fall, don't let it get longer than about an inch throughout the winter (I trim it back to 3/8"), then it comes off sometime in spring when it's warm enough. I can't stand to have facial hair when it's hot out--too itchy. Unfortunately, since I am a painter and do spray on occasion, it sometimes gets shaved off if I have very much spraying to do--that respirator needs to work properly.

Outa spite

I grew it to Spite my Ex-Wife when we were married. Only a Goatee at first then one of my sweet little old lady patients told me "I never trust a man with a Goatee." She was one of the sweetest, so I grew it full. I am now remarried and my wife loves it. When I talk about shaving it she almost cries. Looks like it may never leave!

Well, I used to keep a gotee, but now I just keep a beard all the time.

In the summer I just keep it trimmed really short and skinny. When it gets a little cooler, I let it thicken up a bit.
I've kept a beard for probably 5 years or so, last summer I tried to go back to clean shaven one time. But I couldn't even recognize myself in the mirror and I thought I just looked funny, (short upper lip and pointy chin without the beard!) so I grew it back.

I tried but it starts a iching after a month or two so I shave it off. My grandfather had the same problem. Oh well, say la vie.

"iching after a month or two so I shave it off." Leave it a little longer and the Itching for me went away.
