OK.. I'm in the process of growing my annual " grow it 'til ya feel ugly" beard. I've only grown a beard worth mention a couple times in my life, because of my work and need for a professional appearance. I'm just about at the stage where I start evaluating and wondering if it's going to turn into something worth keeping or just something that makes me look like a hobo. I decided, this morning, to go for it and see what happens...so...look out ugly, here I come!
How many of you grow...or try to grow... facial fuzz for the winter and how long do you let it get and keep it?
Since I first grew one when I was 20 or so (I'm 29) I've had one roughly half the time, but it doesn't have much to do with seasons. My ex-wife loved my beard, but since we split up, I found out most girls don't like beards. Since I'm single, I have to play the odds.
I'm 21, and never have tried to grow a beard. I've had a goatee and sideburns for a long while, and it's starting to get cold at night... so I haven't shaved for about a week. I'm definitely at the "hobo" stage. It'll be interesting to see if it works out.
The wife and I exchanged a second set of vows including among other things;
That she would not get fat and that I would always shave. So far, she's held up her end.
I shave every now and then... But I normally have a full fledged beard going on...
Mine's kind of odd... It's got a bunch of red in it, yet I haven't another red hair on my body
I'm the same way with the red hair. I have brown hair on my head, black chest hair, and a reddish beard. I'm told it's a German trait to have different color hair on your body.
I can't stand nto shaving, I do let it go on my days off. I only get one day off a week, so thats about the extent of it. I'm supposed to be clean shaven for work, but there is another guy at work that lets it go for a week or two at a time, and it looks like crap.
