The Torin I purchased from PB is very smooth. it is a little stiff because of being new but I use to work in a garage when I was in college so I know what a real commercial jack feels like. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being a great commercial jack, I would rate this one about an 8.5. Very stable for heavy loads, smooth operation and built very heavy. Could easily be used in a low frequency commercial application.

I bought one of the Sears floorjacks that does this and actually dislike it. It lifts to resistance in one stroke but then pumps twice+ as hard as a regular jack.

I bought it, I live with it, but that doesn't mean I've gotta like it

I have a 3ton that I purchased from Meijers about 5years ago no problems yet. Why Meijers you ask? They were the only place open at 2am. Looking at buying an air floor jack from northern tool.

I think I bought the same jack as you is it orange. I have had no problems at all with it and for 70 dollars you cant beat it.

most the sears , sams, wal-mart jacks are from china and are the same as harbor frieght.
I have good jacks (walker) there both 30 yrs old one cost $310, the other $565, back then. I would never lift the whole front end of a f250 with one jack.
Two othe jacks I have are h/f tools one @ $36 the other @ $60. There ok, but are cheap, have junkie wheels, won,t stay up for long. I've been told by a jack repair guy that those have cheapo rubber o-rings and seals thats why they creep down. can be change out to good seals ect.
Things to look for a wide spread of the wheels. Thick plate steel frame, universal swivel at the ram (cylinder) for the release/ lock. Instead of the gear coog type.
Then I think I have atleast three of those $20 death waiting to happen floor jacks.
Buy the best you can afford. It's your life. There will be a time you don't use a jack stand.
I've neve been sorry I bought the high dallor jacks, I have been on the cheapo's

I use my floor jacks only a few times a year & with a 5th wheel & an F-250 which is somewhat higher than some vehicles, I gave my shorter floor jacks (19-21" lift) away to son in law & bought 2 at Harbor Freight. I know these are not professional but for me they're great. About 32" of lift & very heavy duty. They weigh about 115 lbs each & have a wide stance. Have foot pedal to get it touching vehicle then you use long arm to lift & same arm turns to lower it. Don't have to pull lever out & push it on lowering valve. About 49" long & were only $99.00 on sale.

I would spend as much as I could resonably afford. I just blew out my last $20 Auto Bone jack, the pump piston shot right out, squirted me with oil, and the handle came out and smacked me in the shoulder. I guess the check valve blew or something, I'm just glad I had gotten all my tools out from under the car, and was actually ready to lower it.
