engine tranny swap

what would u guys/girls recommend for a big engine to put in and what tranny to put in to accomdate the engine i have a 1997 2.3 ranger right now

302 ford and c6.. Lots of them done, just google for them.

Depends what you want. If you want bolt-in swap that needs no real hard modding, the 4.0L (OHV) is good. Need donor truck of ~97 year.

Exploder 5.0 setup is good, too, but 2wd Rangers need special plates for that swap. Due to Exploders being on 4wd frames, even with 2wd versions.
