Those of you who have been reading my posts from the start know what has been going on with my truck I had to start another post cause I could not find my other one so sorry to some of you!!
After 3 weeks of service and replacing the wire harness I am still having engine cut out issues and now idle surging.....I think at this point - their 4th attempt to fix the truck and I am pretty confident that they wont be able to find the problem that I am going to make them take the truck back!!!
My problem - I am just not sure how to approach this issue....
Start with the service manager, outline all your issues and what you want done. If the service manager won't initiate a buyback or replacement, go to the general manager. If that doesn't do it, call Ford Customer Assistance. Then if no luck go to a DSB (Dispute Settlement Board). It's all in your owner manual and warranty guide. Document everything, be calm, professional but firm. Keep us posted.

I did this with my 02 (which got me my GREAT 03 X) and with a pontiac...
it can be done... be factual, be firm, be professional, be nice, be patient....
Well maybe they have fixed it after so many tries - they claim it was a exhaust back pressure sensor!? Well we will see if that is it or not - They are going to drive it a while today- we will see??
At this point - I do not want this truck anymore after dealing with all these issues I feel it will cause me nothing but problems in the future.....Very dis-satisified customer I am!!!
Doesn't matter if they fixed it if you still meet the lemon law params...
like here in Texus it's 30 days out of service in first 12 months or 12K miles....
my 02 was running like a champ by the time they replaced it...
Really - That is interesting - Lemon law in MN is 4 times to fix it - or 30days out of service....I just feel like I cannot trust this truck anymore - they claimed they fixed it once already (priror to 2 service apts that they did nothing and simply gave it back to me) I now have such BAD ICKY feelings with this truck, and biggest thing - will wait for it to do something else! I dont think I should have to drive that way anymore!!!
Sorry to hear that. I had a good service department that fixed everything so far. And it is a good truck that I really enjoy. Not all SD 6.0's are like yours. I also think the abilities of the diesel tech has a lot to do with customer satisfaction.
Did you ever ask to see the diesel techs credentials and certifications? That may be a factor.
Yep - and that is what I am going to when I go to the dealership tonight is hand them how I would like to see the problem handeled. Wow - hopefully mine will be that easy!!
