I've got a 2002 Expedition and am looking to hook up an amp. Does anyone have a suggestion where I could run the wire from the battery through the firewall?
I ran some 8 guage power wire on the passenger side by where your feet rest. I drilled a hole and placed a rubber grommet in there. It is out of the way so your feet don't hit it or anything. It's about 6 feet long. I have my amp under the passenger seat and didn't want to run the power cable over to the driver side and back. People say there is a place in the firewall on the driver side to run the power through but you have to run twice the amount of wire.
Use the rubber plug by the brake pedal. You'll see it under there.
I concur.
Most vehicles have a rubber plug you can drill through and run wire. I try not to drill through metal unless it's absolutely necessary. Drilling could lead to unprotected metal which can lead to rust.
