I'm looking into putting an edelbrock performer carb and intake manifold on my 302 with an RV cam and dual exhaust with cats. I'm getting the non-EGR setup, but I'm worried that it won't pass the smog test. Has anyone had any problems with something like this? It seems like it would pass as long as it is tuned right.
If your truck is still subject to smog, such modifications may be illegal in your state whether it passes the emissions test or not. Consult your local smog authorities.

it should pass as long as it is tuned. However, a lot of places will fail you b/c you won't pass the visual. (ie the original fords have the fuel bowl vents going into the carcoal box).
Thanks for the replies. I know of a shop that isn't concerned with looking for stuff like that. Young kids doing the job that don't know what to look for...
