Bassani Y pipe w/cat-will it pass smog test
I have a 95 351 Bronco and will be bolting on a Bassani Y pipe that has the single high flow cat on it. I'm in Sacramento county and I like to know what I'm for at the next smog test. I already put on JBA ceramic coated headers, BBK 56mm TB, MSD coil & 8.5mm plug wires, K&n cone filter, Mallory adj fuel reg, Gibson cat back and all this stuff passed my last smog test. I think I'll just hang on to my old stock Y pipe until I get feedback from you guys or get a thumbs up or down from the smog test person.BTW this is a CA Bronco with MAF and OBD-1.

Geezer
I think it all depends on your inspector and the shop you take it to. My son's car had to be taken to a refery station because the guy's book did not show two vacuum diaphrams on the EGR. The ref gave us paper work that proved him wrong and I went back and got my money back.
A friend of mine completely re built his exhaust system and moved the cat back about 12" from original and they failed him because they clained cats needed to be within 6" of original location.
So if your cat is within 6" of it's original location I would think that it should pass.
Good luck

if you go ahead and keep it it's not gonna kill you. i'm tryig to figure out how to go about this smog thing after putting true duals w/glasspacks. It's hard to find a cat that has a 2-1/4 inch in/out. standard are 2 and 2-1/2. it's hard to find. Then gotta order them off the net and make sure they're cali smog legal. Ahhhh somebody stop the madness
Hey this is post number 800. wow i remember when it was 50. Ahh the time flys.

Another smog question
I have FlowMasters on mine an had no problem It has 3" exhust.
Sence this is a good smog topic I have a question if you don't mind.
I can't get a answere on this one. I would like to put crome Valve covers on my 77 F250 351M. I have mailed two of the sponsors and after 10days no reply.
The emission Decal MOTOR HAVEN is D7OE-9C 485-PA#430 Mine reads
D7TE-9C- 485 DCA 7-423
NON CATALYST
I want to replace it with the right information
