I'm amazed with the power on this trucks (at least on mine), I have a 93 with a 5.8 engine, and this sunday I just pulled a old 1965 dump truck from a ditch on a ranch in Mexico. I know this is no big deal for a lot of people, but it is for me.
I've never done this before, I mean, the towing of something.
LOL Yea these trucks do grow on ya. In March of 2003, we got 49 inches of snow in 2 days. I was the only one in my neighborhood that got out for 3 days. I was out playing around in other areas when I ran across a Dodge Ram pickup hooked to the front of one of those Pontiac Aztecs. The pontiac was in pretty good and the dodge was pulling and bouncing and all sorts of stuff,(No...not bouncing from that! He was spinning tires...sheesh.) I watched for a few minutes til there was this loud BANG! My first thought was, "drive like hell its a shoot out!" Then I noticed the Dodge had his driveshaft hanging to the ground underneath. Busted the ujoints. He had dug in so bad that he couldnt move forward or backwards and so was the Pontiac. So for *****s and giggles, I said I'll hook up to the front of the dodge and maybe pull enough so they can seperate. I asked the driver of the Pontiac where he lived and he told me. I started pulling in high and nothing. So I switched to 4x4 low and away we went. (Had to give the Dodge owner a little bit of a tease...make him think I couldn't do it. hehe) Gawd what a site... a big ugly bronco pulling a Dodge AND a Pontiac through the snow. As we got about 2 blocks up the road, lo and behold, from a side street came another big bronco about the same year as mine pulling one of those UPS delivery trucks. We both gave a thumbs up and a whoop and kept on cruising. That old Bronco pulled both vehicles right to the guys driveway. I tell you, I have never owned a more capable 4x4. Thats why she is now in the shop getting a full ground up restoration. Gotta love the Big Broncos....nothing else like em!.
I have 79 bronco 400m/ auto w/ 4"lift bush truck with 240,000 km . A forklift spun his tires and burried it to the body in a gravel lot with a full load of concrete siding on the forks. The forklift and load weighed over 15,500 lbs total and it was No Problem in low range, my biggest worry was that the chain would break and smash something..this truck will go anywhere, and it appears pull anything..love it till the day it dies!
