I just got back from a 4K trip out west, it’s the first long pull sense I put on a Banks Cat Back system on the truck. 2000 F350 DRW SC 4.30 gears V10 15K 5ver in tow, the last long trip out west with the stock system was 3.6K total and the truck averaged 8.4 mpg for the whole trip. This trip I averaged 9.1 from start to finish about the same miles running around empty maybe 300 hundred at the most. Banks claims that the system will give 3.8% gain when towing I got 8.5%. I think that the most gain was at the higher altitudes, what a difference the system made in pulling power up high. I am one Happy Camper
I used the intake that comes with the Stinger System and thats all. The Ram Air System comes with a new air inlet housing and a K&N filter thats about 30% bigger than the K&N filter I had that replaced the stock filter. The only time that you can tell any difference in preformace is when its pulling a load, but thats is what I bought it for.
It increased it some but no to the point that its annoying. I have sound clips before and after from outside the truck. You will have to email me your email address if you want to here them. Not a PM but email.
I had the Banks Power Pack kit w/Ottomind on my "01 and aside from a little better gas mileage, I was overall disappointed, didn't get the power increase they claimed.
I was looking to add a little more when towing my camper. How much difference would addind Airraid filter and throtle body spacer add.
A lot of the guys here swear by the Banks kit for towing, so if that's what you're looking for it might be the way to go. I would stay away from the throttle body spacer though, waste of money.
