I have a problem with the ARC.I get the ARC-warninglamp after about
2 minutes. The compressor won't start unless i take away the relay and
force it to go(the relay is ok)
Is there anybody that's familiar with this system and could give me a
more "advanced" desciption of the system and some advices for trouble-shooting?
if there is an air leak, or if the shocks are No good (ie internally leaking) the computer will eventually give up on trying to fill the system. Try clearing the DTC. Then the pump should come back on. If, within a one whole day of driving, the DTC reappears and the pump shuts down, you might need new shocks or have an air leak
Is the DTC the same as OBD-1 codes?.Have tried that and also have the battery
disconected for a while, still the system won't work.If i fill the shock manually, they stay that way as long as i dont drive. How about the rear height sensor or the solenoids, could problems with thoose they affect the system like this? How to troubleshoot them?
ooh good point forgot about that....the rear height sensor can break or fall off its mount really easy. DTC =Diagnostic Trouble Code, or computer codes. Get the codes read. If its showing rear hieght sensor failure that would cause the pump to shut down. The front height sensor could fail, but the rear is more likely. Also you may get all four shock sensors in failure if you have new shocks. The stock shocks and the first few replacements made had a sensor built into them and have a 2 or 3 wire wiring harness attached to it. Those are not necessary if you have the new shocks so ignore that if it comes up
the Rear height sensor is really $$$$ if you need a new one go to a junk yard or you can rig it up with screws and silicone sealant(it wasnt my #1 choice but its held up on my ride fine)
I have checked the codes, but didn't find any troublecode reffering to the height sensor, and when i look at the possible codes in the haynes repair manual,i't don't seem to be a troublecode for this.I only have airshocks in the rear, and
i haven't done anything to the shocks.I have removed the sensor, cleaned it,
and put it back again, same result.I'm trying to find a second hand one,but
they are very difficult to find here in Sweden.Does anybody knowes what
the proper voltage from it should be,if its possible to meassure the sensor.
Thank you nhfire 77 for haveing this conversation with me,i'm sure i find
a solution later on....
