Maybe this is my dealer trying to scare me, but when I asked about the predator and superships, he said any engine-related repairs would no longer be covered because the computer changes affect how the engine works. What gives? Can I use one of these gadgets and then reload the factor spec before going for service (seems like a pain). Or will I need to reload the new data if the dealer flashes?

Yes you can, both will re-load the original flashk, and my understanding is..it only takes five minutes
Guess he hadnt seen any of the claims that Jeep had made....like the one that said if a stock Jeep could not traverse the Rubicon trail (i'm sure they would take it there and show you that it would) that they would buy it back( might not look so good when done).....no questions asked. Tim
Got another question. I've had the predator for 12 days now and had it in the 40 mode and the 65 mode. Both I did the 5 cold starts (or more) and I would say the it never got what I would call smooth shifting. Now yesterday I switched it back to stock just to see the power difference and I notice ,besides alot less power, the the shifting was perfect just like when I bought it. I thought that the tranmission had to "learn" the shifting. Why did it not have to learn the shifting when going back to stock if it learned the shifting when it was in the other modes? But like I said it never got anywhere close to a smooth shift to me in the other modes.
The smooth shift going back to factory original is apparently normal. Here is a transmission learning procedure to follow. See if this helps when on Predator modes.
TorqShift Harsh/Slipping Engagements, Upshifts, and/or Downshifts:
If these symptoms are experienced after the batteries have been disconnected, then it is due to the transmission adaptive strategy being cleared from the computer. This may occur when the vehicle is delivered new from the factory as well. Warm the engine and transmission to operating temperature. Perform three series of upshifts at light, medium and heavy throttle. Perform three sets of gear engagements (N-R, N-D, D-R, R-D) with the brake pedal firmly depressed and waiting three seconds between each engagement. Peform these steps once in normal mode and once in tow/haul. Broadcast Message 1196
I wouldn't disconnect the batteries. When you load the Predator program your TCM is needs to "relearn" just as if disconnecting the batteries. When you load the Predator use the procedure as follows:
1. Warm the engine and transmission to operating temperature.
2. Perform three series of upshifts at light, medium and heavy throttle.
3. Perform three sets of gear engagements (N-R, N-D, D-R, R-D) with the brake pedal firmly depressed and waiting three seconds between each engagement.
Peform these steps once in normal mode and once in tow/haul.
Do most people just have to do the 5 cold starts and they get a fairly smooth shift? When I did my cold start I was pretty easy for 5, then I got on it more and more on it thinking it would learn that. but it didn't. Has anyone gotten a smooth shift just doing the cold starts?

Does this mean:
2. Perform three series of upshifts at light, medium and heavy throttle. While driving the truck?
3. Perform three sets of gear engagements (N-R, N-D, D-R, R-D) with the brake pedal firmly depressed and waiting three seconds between each engagement. While sitting still?
Ironically, when I first read his post I thought he was heckling (sic). When it says upshift, is that throttling to cause it or shift on the column from D-3?

Me? Heckle someone? Not me!
But, no, not this time. Serious. On 2. Let the trans shift itself while driving with Trans in "D". Let it do its automatic thing. Then in 3. be at a stop with the brake firmly depressed.
