Hey all! Name's Jeff, been cruising around this forum for a couple years now and I've picked up a lot of good info for my project. My truck is a 92 F250 4X4 ext cab long box, 5.8, ZF 5-speed. Pretty rough condition, but my dad bought it new, and I've spent a lot of time in it, so it has a lot of sentimental value.
Based on what I learned here, I did a SAS conversion with a kingpin D60, installed the SKY 3" RSK with Superduty front springs, and installed ICON 5" Superduty lift springs in the rear (removed block of course). I upgraded the gears to 4:56, E-Locker in the front, Detroit TruTrac in the rear. 35" Toyo Mud Countrys.
I have been doing a lot of searching, but I can't really find the info I need about headers. I would like to install either Headman or Pacesetter long-tube headers, but it seems all the applications have a note that say "will not fit with D60". I assume this is because of the front driveshaft. Since the truck is lifted so much, is it still in the way? Does anyone have any experience with a setup like this? I understand I may have to test fit a few different headers, I'd just prefer to order the right part the first time!
Anyway, thanks for your time,
Can't say I have any experience with that setup, maybe someone will chime in here, if you had a d44 I would say pacesetters, cause they are fantastic. Easy fit.
Also welcome to FTE!
From my experience with 1 tons with windsors, the only time I've ever seen long tube headers NOT clear, is when somebody lowers the truck, and the headers and the axle could hit. But besides that, The driveshaft is in the same spot on the F250 and F350, so that's out of the way for the most part. I think that's what they're talking about. And I have a Dana 44 HD under my F250 and I can clear long tubes just fine. I've got about as much lift as you do I think, maybe a little less even. You should post a picture of your truck.
Welcome to FTE buddy!
