I've ordered a 2005 F350 DRW and am trying to find a heavy duty 5th wheel solution which uses existing frame holes (or mostly existing) - such as the PullRite SuperBracket. PullRite & others don't list 2005 vehicles yet.
Ford's brochures mention changes in the frame (boxed in the front) and thickness changes throughout. Without knowing for sure, I don't want to order a 2004 bracket only to find it doesn't fit.
I would really like to have the hitch here before the truck arrives as I need to pick up my trailer right a way.
If anyone has any knowledge of this or can point me to some more current information, I would appreciate it.
Installed a FW Hidden Hitch on my 05' F-350drw Sun. Only prob. was that since FMC staggered the shocks in the rear for 05', I had to notch one of the brackets to get it to fit. No big. Went on just as easy as it did on my sold 01' 350drw. C-Ya!!
Something must have changed, here's the email I got from B&W for their hidden hitch........
We have designed a hitch for the 2005 250/350 super duty Fords. The
TURNOVERBALL model you will need is the 1105R. To order or to find a dealer

unless I am mistaken the poster said he wanted to install a Fifth Wheel receiver. Yes indeed there are some under bed changes relating to the shocks and exhaust shields.
BUT the beds, Long or short, and the mounting bolts to the frame, are in the exact same location 01 through 05. Any standard Fifth wheel receiver hitch will bolt right up.
Some rollover, "hidden", hitch ball mount Goosneck Receivers will need notching or positioning slightly forward of the rear axel on the frame.
