Just a mention of what I use & keep in the truck instead of a 36mm socket. A simple strap wrench that comes with a rubber type strap works great. The "o" ring does the sealing so there is absolutely no reason to torque the cap down after installing new filter. With the resistance of the "o" ring on the cap, it's not about to unscrew. To prove this, take a white or similiar paint stick or marker & mark line with cap & filter holder. You'll find it never moves at all. I'm sure there's other ways but this is a simple tool to find ANYWHERE for about $6-8.00.
