Just wanted to know what direction to turn the adjustment screw inside the vacuum advance to retard the timming, clockwise or counter clockwise?? I use to know this but can't remember any more.
Also had the same question about the vacuum modulator on the tranny, which way do you turn it to shorten the shift pionts or make it shift out of first sooner. Seems to me like it stays in first way to long.

Thanks in advance.
If my timing is dead on, this adjustment can eliminate lugging at higher RPM's? Where is this adjustment screw? Obviously I haven't ventured to working on the dizzy.
Pull the vacuum hose of the dizzy and there is an allen screw inside the nipple of the vacuum advance (1/8" I think). The same goes for the vacuum modulator on the trans. but it is not an allen, it takes a small regular screwdriver, or at least mine did.
"On edit" .........I just remembered that SOME of the vacuum advances can be adjusted this way and others need to have washers added or removed to change the amount of advance.
