Getting back at 'em
Well my dad got to a set of lights at an inter section where he was gonna turn left. So he gets in the left turn lane when this character cuts off one or two more people to get in the lane next to my dad. At this point my dad knows whats about to happen. He knows that as soon as the turn light turns green this guy is gonna run his red light to make the turn first. So sure enough the light turns green and my dad starts off, but so did the guy in the 4 runner. About half way in to the turn the guy in the 4 runner realizes that he needs to go much faster to get around this big white FORD truck. Well he cuts too close and my dad broad sides him and winds up paralell parking him across the street. So my dad pulls over and is laughing so hard he was in tears.
Just then the massachusetts state trooper that was 3 or four cars back and saw the whole thing pulls up. The guy in whats left of the 4 runner is out yellin at my dad when the cop wlaks up to him and first gives him a ticket for reckless driving, the arrested him for being beligerent. It was beautiful because the 4 runner was totalled, and my dad spent about 10 minutes with a buffer and rubbed the red paint off his front bumper. Here's me not so young:
...change what you can...
...accept what you can't...
...know the difference.
For me life's big stuff is enough to worry about without sweating the small stuff, cuz it's too hard being Superman.
If getting around me on the road, not letting me into traffic, being the third one through the light after it turns red, etc., is big stuff in some (lots) of people's lifes, I gotta think they don't have much of a life.
Whoa up there, Parson!
It all starts at home, who the kids will become.
Will you raise a Gangsta?
Or a Wanna-be?
An idiot?
An ignorant person?
And how can you be sure? Because that's where it all comes from - children brought up to believe they can get away with anything, and a legal system that lets them...
So my question here is:
What constitutes sufficient evidence of negligent/dangerous driving, lawlessness, etc...
How can we take these people off the road, and set them on their bicycles where they belong - since they have FAILED to grow up?
I think that sums it up right there.
Several years ago, I went to a shopping center with my son (3 year old at that time). I always park far away to avoid door dings. As we were crossing aisles in the parking lot, we always stopped and looked both ways. As we crossed one aisle, a car was down at the other end, a safe distance away, or so I thought. As were about a third the way across, I hear the car nail the throttle, he is on us in no time. I jerked my son by the arm, as I ran out of the aisle.
This young punk in a early eighties Mustang, laughs as he goes by. We made eye contact and if looks could kill...Well I yelled a few things, keeping it clean because of Jr. I watched and he went out the other end of the parking lot.I was hot, but went into the store anyway. Low and behold as I turn up a aisle in the store a while later, theres Mr Hot Rod. I got to within two steps, before he looks up. A face full of ear rings and the last three inches of his pants were under his shoes. He looks up and turns white, I thought he was going to faint. With my best Clint Eastwood grimace, I ask him "What's your major malfunction?" This kid probably 18-20 years old, opened his mouth, but nothing came out. His eyes started watering up. Not such a smart a$$ now, huh? He finally managed to say he was sorry over and over. I told him he was sorry alright and he should thankful, if it weren't for my son, I would drag him outside and pulvarize him.
I will say that he will probably think twice before pulling that stunt again.
Made me feel good anyway.
A couple of years ago I got a job driving an 18 wheeler for covenant transport out of chattanooga tenn. Well one day while driving/sliding across I-80 in wyoming between rawlings and elk mountain this young girl comes flying around me and my 80,ooolb rig in her new chevy blazer and cuts in front of me, now I'm doing about45 or so because of the patchy black ice and wouldnt you know it she found a patch of it and starts fishtailing and hits her brakes (the worst thing to do on ice) needless to say she lost it and rolled a few times landing in the ditch just short of a snow fence. NOW imagine her surprise when the slow a**ho#$ she was passing stopped to pull her out of her totalled truck put her in a warm sleeper and called for assistance and made sure she was ok. She got away with a few cuts and scratches and a newfound respect for truckers and black ice, nuff saidI do these things only because it's illegal to mount a 40mm grenade launcher to my hood.

I drive 35 miles each way to work 5 days a week. 20 miles of that is on the freeway.
If I get where I want to go (work or home) safely and in a reasonable time, with no high-stress windup, I have WON.
If I don't get home at all,
or get there late from being in a traffic incident,
or get there even later from being in the hospital or jail,
I have LOST!
Finally, when you are in a difficult situation, consider quickly which is the best outcome for YOU. Your health, safety, peace of mind, your family, finances, etc. Then take that action.

I really can't do a whole lot about it saying my bus only goes at top speed of 70 and takes two miles to get there.and even if I could get going fast enough to get in front of them and do the same....I got the company phone number plastered on all four sides.
at least they don't do this to me when I'm in my truck.
I might just plow them out of the way(not really I just said that for fun) (I just don't worry about it)
"never fight with someone who has less to lose than you do." No, I don't consider myself wimpy, I've had my share of scraps, but there is no way I'm going to risk getting blown away by some mentally-challenged road wacko, when I've got a beautiful, loving wife, a beautiful 9-yr. old daughter, an 8yr. old "lineman-of-the-year" son,a little league team, a Sunday-school class, 3 FORD TRUCKS.....you get my drift. Just smile with the knowledge that what comes around, goes around. They'll get theirs.
