Getting back at 'em

hey,
i have about a 25 mile commute from my house to my school, through 2 towns and across 16 miles of Eastern Wasington's straightest, dryest highway. i have seen so many accidents that im pretty much scared to pass, let alone tail someone for passing me. its hard to believe on a stretch of road that short there could be so many accident each year. but, the other day i was coming off the highway to the college and a guy who was in the turn lane going to the gas station (he was turning left, and might i add was driving a ch*vy) cut me off, even though i had a green light, and you are supposed to yield to on-coming traffic. anyways, i had to lock up my brakes and as if this wasnt bad enough, he looked at me and flipped ME off, as if it was my fault he's mentally defective. that was it, i turned into the gas station behind him, and as we were walking into the gas station for some coffe i was exclaiming how id always wanted a blue pinstrip on my pickup, the same color as his. haha, it got him pretty good. anyways, just thought id share that one with ya...

If you really want to throw them off try this. Smile and wave , and mouth when they can see you "Oh what a beautiful day this is!"

This doesn't always work for me (I'm 6'3 and ain't afraid to let them know I got a can of whop butt with their name on it) but the times that I've managed to control the urge to just ripp them a new one - this does work.

I must remain calm, I must relax! Do I really want to do bodily harm to someone who is 1) dirt poor, 2) usually stupid, and 3) sue me for everything I'm worth because I put them in the hospital because they were incompetant behind the wheel? Just because they are an idiot, I shouldn't act like one.

Wish I could say I've always acted that way. But it is a challenge when every damn day people's brains are not engaged when driving. A mistake is a mistake but incompetance and stupidity sure wear a guy down.

Who was it that said:

"Revenge is a dish best served cold..."

"KARMA" is a thing we all have to deal with. That idea that what we do comes back to us sooner or later...

And then there is the concept of:

"ACCELLERATED KARMA" -Which I first read about in a book by Mr. Robert Heinlein...

When people are stupid, ignorant, lawless, and/or just plain rude: We can assume that it just comes back to them.
On the other hand we can make SURE that it does

I have no use for such people on the road, and my options and imagination are without limit. A tag number, make, model, and general description of the driver are just about all that is required.

I can imagine many scenarios.

Seeing the car parked at a bar opens up a lot of windows, especially if I buy the son of a bitch plenty of shooters...

You catch my drift, I am sure...

I find that blowing them a kiss works rather well. They either a) look at you bewildered and speed away. b)laugh and shrug it off. or c) get even more irate and once again speed off. Pretty funny stuff considering I'm 6'4" 230lbs.

I remember waving and laughing at a guy one night on Indian River road in Norfolk.

He was hollerring and gesturing out his passenger window because of an imagined slight (not my fault he was doing 65 in a 45 zone) and I giggled all the way - and then I pointed ahead...

He nearly became a part of a trailer being hauled by a White Freightliner....

He tried to **** me off some more, but I grinned and took my exit off of I-64 after he (without a doubt) annoyed even more people trying to catch up to me.

I figured he was summer folk:
Summer born to be annoyed...
Summer born to be AMUSING.
I hope his SR-22 was current... (He looked like the type)

Cool! dust3 - I think I'll try blowing a kiss. I almost can't wait for the next low grade stool sampler to pull a move on me.

Shouldn't take long for that to happen

Yeah Guys, I always feel like a pansy for almost always playing it cool. I realize that this is the best response, but I gotta admit I really like what Greywolf had to say about seeing them at a bar or other place.
In the truck I can intimidate buy just being big and in the way, but there's not a lot I can do in a company minivan.
I have job similar to the FedEx drivers, the difference being I just drive a little van and have a different route every day.
As to whether or not they're packing heat, it is a legitimate concern, but I still have SOME young and stupid left in me. I'd probably holler at them even if I knew they were armed. And how do they know I'm not packing? I hope to never see this day, but how do you think they would react when they pulled out their hand guns and saw themselves looking down the barrel of an AK-47, SKS, 12 Guage Police Model Winchester, or other gun that I may have with me at the time? I have never pulled a gun on somebody, and hope that I never do, but I like the knowledge that in the event, I probably out-gun them.
Man, I realize my last five or six posts have a noticably negative feel to them. I must be in a bad mood or something. I need to go watch Sportscenter and enjoy a spam sandwich and get into a better mood.

I say ignore them, you don't know who they are or what they are high on. Back in the seventies I was with a "friend" that was cut off on an off-ramp. As he caught up with the guys at the redlight, he calmly drew a .45 and pointed it at the guy's head. If my sister hadn't quietly asked him not to shoot, I am sure he would have blown the guy away and driven off. The suggestion to notify the cops has it's merits. They will follow up, and more often than not they will find the guy has warrants, no license, there is ALWAYS something.

Depends what I'm drivin and what I'm packin;
(truck, vette, or harley and shotgun or 45 auto);
If it was available to me I'd use a LAWs rocket on em;
If yer gonna shoot em, ya got get em to assault ya first,
in order beat the system. Hopefully they'll take themselves
out of the gene pool (before they multiply) without harming
anyone else in the process; I had 3 jump outta of a POS ricer
after I yelled at em for running a red light; they were "gonna take me out"; then they saw "shorty"; my 18 in pump shotgun with pistol
grip; the little wimps literally screamed and jumped back into their POS and hauled! In my younger days I'd have dragged one out and beat the living daylite outta em; I'm not gonna take the chance these days.

I'll agree with the "what goes around comes around". Even my sweet grandma told me that all the bad poeple today will eventually kill themselves off. Ha But sometimes I like to poke a little fun. I've got a set of dual air blaster semi horn mounted in the grill of my truck (flat black -disguised).

When some F#*%$#* idiot in a P.O.S. ricer sittin' low in the seat with one hand at 12 cuts me off and gives the bird, I just lay a blast on them horns. Scares the **** out of 'em every time.

Actually, blowing kisses at them is a great tactic. I used to get all fired up at these situations, but not any longer. Since all of my vehicles are high horse, when somebody tries something stupid I just put the hammer down and either shut them down or accelerate out of the situation. I remember this woman who tried cutting me off...I nailed it and made my position, so she pulled along me and flipped me off and was shouting something. I just smiled sweetly and blew her a kiss, not feeding into it, and she literally went nuts and started beating her head against her steering wheel! I was laughing so hard I almost went into the ditch. Sold me on the "kiss" approach.

Ha! I'm going to try that next time. After reading a post by Mil1ion, please excuse my language in my previous response. Some things just get me a little riled up.

Luckily I have a few cops for friends. The kids I just let go, for the moment anyway, until Sgt Smith and their father have a talk about what their child did and how it almost got him killed. Yes, I carry a gun. No, I don't mind using it.

I have no patience for people who can't drive, or feel they are so good at it they can multi-task their way around. Read the paper, MAKE-UP, call London, England, to say 'HI' to maumie:-X11 . These people need a Reality check! Adults that drive should have had enough practice by now to get it right. Of course - we have some slow learners in this world. :-X23

I recently had a close call w/a lifted Dodge Ram - the guy was a maniac. He cut off a line of cars coming off the thruway, drove aggressively in heavy rush hour traffic - seems he believed that garbage about "If you can't Dodge 'em - Ram 'em"!
After he tried to hit my truck & had gotten out of his & came over to my truck to scream at me we moved on & he kept hitting the brakes - guess he thought I had a Ram too! LOL! I ended the whole thing when I rolled down the window & said I was sorry he had Ford envy & then just drove off! ROFL! From that point on he tried to catch up to me & cut me off but he just couldn't - I wouldn't let him in! I normally ignore this type but this guy was totally out of control & HE wouldn't back off. When that happens I refuse to back down too. I'll post about it later but right now - time to get to work! Have a great day - glad you're ok & drive safe!
