Steering column rebuild ?????
I have a 1996 F 150 4*4. Finally got around to removing the steering wheel to repair what seemed to be bad bearing or bushing. Nothing is there except a spring, and lots of rusty dust. Looks like bearing or bushing has distructed. Has any one ever rebuilt their steering column, and if so do dealers stock bearings, bushings and such. Also are there any special tools required to do this job?
Thanks

Thanks for the reply. It is a tilt wheel with automatic. I have found parts on internet. Not sure if dealer has it. Would rather buy local stuff. Looks like $30 or $40 to fix and a days work because I have never done it before. Local shop says $200 to fix including parts. Doesn't seem like long project to some one that has done it before to just charge $200.
