What is at the top of the column under the steering wheel? A bearing or a bushing? How do you replace it? My steering wheel has started to grind in certain positions.
2X it's a bearing. C3DZ3517A. Still available from Ford. Note,Earnhardt,Sanderson, and Bell Ford have it in stock. It's been a while but I think they come in a package of three. Sold separately though.
I think I have the same problem. I hear a grinding sound from the steering column when I turn the wheel at a stop or when driving slowly. Armstrong power steering, BTW.
