Instrument cluster removal
I was wondering if there was a trick to getting the instrument cluster out in my truck. I have a 1988 F150 with the AOD. I am trying to get the cluster out so that way I can check to see if I have the resistor on the back of the oil pressure gauge. I switched out the "oil pressure switch" for the old bellhousing style and I checked to see what the guage read and it was really low, so I think that I may have that resistor back there throwing off the reading. I tried to remove it tonight but with little luck. I did get as far as removing the gauges and tach out of the assembly but I could not get the assembly to move very far, plus the speedometer was still hooked up as well. I was hoping to get it out enough so that way I could unhook it and remove the assembly but things did not go that way. Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks!!
