I bought a reverse glow guage kit for my truck. It hasn't arrived yet, I'm just trying to run through all of the steps mentally so I'm less likely to make a mistake. The kit says that you don't need to remove the needles to install it...but I don't see how this is feesable. Does anyone have experience with this? If so, is there anything else I should be warned about before starting in on this? Thanks!
I put the white face on my '99 and had to remove the needles. Only problem was with the speedo and I had to use radar to get it right. Just be careful and it will go on OK.

If need be, can you move the needles manually? Or will this mess with the servo's and other drive mechanisms? In other words...can I position the needles by hand while still connected to the cluster without breaking anything?

As I recall, I just pulled the needles straight up and off, then pushed them back on after I placed the white face. Just be carefull you place them back in the right position. Good luck.

Thanks for all the help guys! Another seemless installation complete. I tried pulling up on the needles, but I was afraid I was going to break something. The needles that allowed me to, I turned by hand until it was parallel with the other needle and then slid the overlays on. Then I turned the needles back to where they were pointing. After a test drive, all the gauges work...I think. It'll be a while before I can tell if my gas gauge still works. I'll post pics once I can take a night shot.
