what kind of brake hose do I need

Hello to all. I have been hard at work rebuilding the brakes on my 65 F250 and have replaced all lines and the master cylinder and after this weekend should have my front discs. Here is where my confusion sets in-I ordered a new rear flexible hose from National parts depot and when I got it, it was not the same part that was on my truck. The one I got is straight with threads at one end and the c-clip on the other. The one that came off the truck has the c at one end but has a T and double threads for the rear brake lines. It doesn't appear the T block off the old one comes off. Did I just get the wrong part or am I overlooking something. Thanks

Robert, This is interesting, All of my trucks have hard lines on the rear. The rubber hose is used at the front because of the steering rotation, and there is none back there.

John,
Look again, you have one rubber line in the rear, not at each wheel, but where the line goes from the frame to the rear axle, which moves up and down with the suspension.

Wrong part! Replacement will look like the old one (clip, internal threads with brass "T" and internal threads for two lines and a hole for the hollow diff vent bolt). I bought one from Carpenter a while back and I believe they will have the part.

Well on a whim I started looking at other year trucks. I found the hose I need on Advance Auto parts site but only under 66 F250. I thought 65-66's were pretty much the same. Well thanks again everyone.

It surprises me you're getting the wrong part from truck specific vendors. Getting the wrong part for a 65 at the Advance/Carquest/etc is pretty common. I've found that the computer system is wrong at these places...it thinks the 65 is the same as the 64. At my Parts Plus the only V8 engine choice in their computer for 65 is a 292! I've just learned to tell them it's a 66.

pep boys thinks that anything pre 76 is the same in their computer. the major parts stores are too busy selling mini scooters and neon light kits to actually carry and sell parts that we need! customer service sucks these days!
