I just purchased a 2003 expy eb everytime I use the remote to unlock the doors the passenger side mirror moves up. I asked the dealership about this they said it was normal due to the preset positions for the drivers seat. so i did not think anything about it. but i figured that it cannot be right because it is not moving to the preset position. anyone else with the issue?
Your mirrors should move to their preset locations according to which key fob you use to unlock the truck.
Each key fob can be setup to move the seat and mirrors to a drivers predetermined settings. So when you unlock the truck you will see the mirrors move, then when the key goes into the ignition the seat will move to it’s preset location.
My 03 EB used to move the seat up when you got in the car and put the key in the ignition and push the seat backward when you took the key out to get out of the truck but stopped all of a sudden. Any idea why this would happen and how to fix? Thanks
Checked message center and it says easy exit seats ON (in brackets - won't let me type them). <ON>I assume that this means it should be doing it so what else could be causing the problem. I recently had the TSB for seat shredding done - could something have gotten disconnected under there? Everything else seems to work ok with the seats but I do not remember if it stopped doing this before or after the TSB fix.
My 03 did the same thing. Turned out to be a combination of key presets & seat being too far back. I have the seat almost all the way back so it moves very little.
On my 03, the passenger side mirror was replaced under warranty because sometimes it would return pointing up to the sky! Not good if you don't notice it before you need it! It also made a clicking noise.
I have yet to reproduce on the Driver's side. Hopefully it won't happen or will happen before warranty runs up.
I had the same problem with the seat memory sometimes not working. I just had it to the dealer and it was fixed. they replaced the control module. It seems that the module resposible for the reverse tilt mirrirs also controls the seat memory, so have the module replaced and it should fix your problem
