horizontal filter

My 4x4 had the horizontal filter before I added cooler and adapter. There are actually several shorter filters made by different companies that mate up like the PH8A. I have the list somewhere, if someone needs it.

bodabdan, it's not the cap lock this time, it's orange juice that ate away on the silver circuits on the plastic sheets. This last "clean up" would of been the fifth time inside the key pad, i'm cheap but a new one is on order,thanks. Carl

short filters

Just installed an oil cooler kit on my '72 390 4WD. It lists approx 7 filters that are shorter than the PH8A. Almost every brand has a sub, if you need it. I have always used the Fram with no probs, although I relocated filter to inside of left frame horn in vert position.

Fram PH8A is standard lenght, Fram PH977A is 7" long as well as the Hastings 426 ( cotton media) better than fram. Between the two filters in length is Fram 2815 for those who can't decide. The more filter area, in the the filter the less chance of going into by-pass as well as less pressure drop across the filter. Carl......o&o>........
