Hi
I wanted to replace the engine in my 1994 Mazda B3000, 2-wheel drive and 5-speed manual transmission, and VIN engine type identifier "U". I noticed on ebay someone has multiple units of what are claimed to be "ford remanufactured engines for 1994 ranger" for $615. They also provide engine identifying info of "183 CID".
I emailed him/her regarding its use on my mazda B3000 and got the reply that they didn't have anything for a '96 (I was a little unclear on that response since my message clearly stated I had a '94 B3000).
i am not at my trucks location so I can't check the engine number to see if that has something to do with the 183 CID,, i.e. current engine number contains 183 CID.
Would the engine number contain 183 CID or, if not, how might I identify if a 183CID engine is a fit for my B3000.

In retrospect, I should have been able to identify CID was cubic inches deplacement. There are only so many ways used to identify engines and, of course, 1 liter equals 61.02 cubic inches (google now has a great calculator feature that lets you obtain conversion factors), hence my 3.0 liter (b3000) engine would be 3*61.02=183 cubic inches.
However, I am still trying to make sure the 1994 ranger engine was also the same engine (short block portion at least) was the same as that used in the 1994 B3000.
where did you find a: "ford remanufactured engines for 1994 ranger" for $615"??

If you take a look at car-part.com and use either the Ranger or B-truck to search with, I found at least one engine semi-nearby that "area by a body of water" (Jim Rome joke about NoCal) fits the Ranger clones.
95-later are OBD2 and have sensors that the OBD1 trucks don't. OBD2 engines have coilpacks and cam position sensor, so staying with a 94 block in cali helps.
