My bracket rotted where the bolt goes through the back end of the bracket. The pic didn't come out right as the other one did.

I can't believe you guys are still posting on this thread

as a very belated update - I ended up having a body shop do the spring hanger on the passenger side... after a major accident. They used the same bolts and hanger as I did on the driver's side. I don't think anyone could have told the difference between the two.

Better here than posting a new thread, LOL.

I will be doing the passenger side as well before to long, just so both are new. After doing the driver side and figuring it out with all the help I got here, the passenger side will go pretty smoothly. Thanks for all the help.

Matt, I've been up all night trying to figure out how I was gong to get those stupid sleeved bushings back in and viola, I see the nice simple solution you came up with! I must have been overthinking it, such a simple but effective rig. I hope mine go in as easy as yours, I'll post up when I get them done today. FWIW, replacing all four hangers on 96 single cab that was pushing leafs through the bed. Going low with axle flip and hangers while I'm at that end...

I hope it works as good for you as it did for me. A couple things though... A 7/8 cut washer is just the right size to fit over the inner bolt sleeve to give give good pressure on the outer sleeve. Then I went to a 3/4 in washer and then a 1/2 in one. I used 1/2 in bolts and nut. The bolts I got only had threads for about the the first 1 1/4 in of the bolt so I had to buy a few bolts in various lengths and had to swap to a shorter bolt after going as far as I could on the longer one. Hope this helps.

Xchevy, i bought the truck with the springs already coming through bed, friend needed cash and $500 got me a truck with a/c, new tires and battery, etc.
Matt, I think i'm just going to use a section of threaded rod, will eliminate multiple length bolts. Gotta work a 24hr shift tomorrow, then I get all Sunday to work on truck ;-)

How do I know if I have "molded-in frame shackle bushings" or not?

Deystroyer has good idea with the sawzall, had to do that to my 76 to get springs off. I just used a hammer and a sharp chisel to pop the heads off the riviets, then punched them out of the frame rails. The bolt uasually seizes to a steel sleeve in the rubber bushing, then won't let bolt come out of the hanger. Use antiseize on the shaft of the bolt when you put it back together, esp if you have to remove it in the future for a lift.

Based on your profile pic and name alone, I'll bet you get a lot of GREAT deals just for bringing your pretty self into the shop!

Has any of you ever checked to see if the mounts are the same side to side? flipping the shackle brackets upside down and side to side?if ya gottan replace the brackets and they are the same side to side, what about flipping the brakcets upside down and side to side so the spring shackle is facing the ground and gain a couple of inches in the rear?
