I just bought a 1991 Ranger, STX 2WD with the 3.0L/V-6, 5 speed and 93,000 miles.
I've noticed one small problem, just wondering if there is a cheap, quick fix, if not, I'm not going to fix it. The tach will often jump up to about 3500RPM and just stay there for anywhere from 10 seconds to about a minute, it will then return to the normal RPM for the speed and gear being used. It will then do it again in a matter of a few seconds, but usually there will be a couple minutes inbetween the occurences of this.
Doesn't matter what gear I'm in, but I noticed it only does it when the cruise is set or I'm holding the gas steady.
