Hey, i need to remove and install come new clip/connector things in my 84 F150 fuse box (the little metal things with a wire coming into the back and the fuse plugging into the front.) Is there a special tool i can use to get this done? Thanks guys!
I have that tool. I think. You want to remove the wire, and the metal connector, from the plastic "casing"? Then yes, I do have that tool.
It is available from Snap On. I forget how much I paid for it though. It came in a kit with 7 other tools to do the same job on different kinds of connectors.
So, to answer your question, yes there is such a tool.
It's called a pocket screwdriver, this is how I've removed them in the past, you just have to be careful not to smash the connector, or break the plastic.
Molex is the name of the company that makes a lot of those type of connectors. Common name for the tool is a Molex tool if you're searching for one. (Kind of like searching for a Cresent wrench when it's really an adjustable wrench.) If you go to http://www.molex.com and enter tool on the sites search, you'll come up with all sorts of odd-ball stuff. If your an exotic tool junky - be careful.
