Two weeks ago my son and I bled the rear brakes. When I started the van the brake light and the anti-lock light say on all the time. I took the van to a repair shop that had a computer analyzer. When resetting the van computer it would not say reset and both light would come back on. When checking for error codes we found #12 code error, which according to mechanic was air in the brake system. I did keep the lid off the master cylinder when I bled the brakes the first time, and maybe some air got in the brake lines. So bled the rear brake again with fill lid on the brake resivoir. But, still have both brake light and Anti-Lock brake lights on all the time. However, my brake are working fine. So I decided to ignore the dash lights. I had to go on a trip to Florida the next day. I had no problems with the brakes but the lights where on all the time. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and just before arriving home the "check engine light" would come on but not say on all the time. I'm wondering if the other dash light problem are finally effecting the van computer or it its another problem? If anyone has experienced these problem Please help, I would like to fix them myself or at least have some ideas as to what area to look at when I take the van to a repair shop.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 04-Jan-02 AT 06:33 PM (EST)]If your master cylinder has a separate bleeder for the pressure differential switch, try bleeding that first. If you run the MC too low, you can get air trapped in the switch, which can cause both lights to come on. Just attach a short section of hose from the bleeder back into the MC fluid and clip it down on the MC lip. Open the bleeder and give a few pumps to expell any air trapped there. Hope this is your problem.

Thank you for your help. But, where is the separate bleeder for the pressure differential switch located. I believe air trapped in the switch is the problem because the computer check comes up with error #12. Thanks for the help.
try gravity bleeding the system by removing the top of the master cylinder and openning both rear bleeders and just let the fluid flow freely making sure to keep the master full if this fails you may have trouble at the master itself good luck
