Skydiving!

Anybody here skydive? I'm goin with my girlfriend at the end of this month. I'm scared to death of heights, and jumping out of a perfectly good airplane seems absolutely retarded , but I think it'll be fun. She talked me into it , so I can't back out now...any advice?

Well, I've only been with the girl for a little over a week, but hey, she's fun, so why not. I've flown plenty of times because I used to have to travel quite a bit for my last job. I'm gonna be scared to death, but I'm gonna do it anyway. Just hope I don't go splat...

You might want to do a search. If memory serves, GTEX had a big ol thread about his skydiving adventure a month or two ago.

I am with the majority here - I have done it.. I assume everyone in the military who ever needed to get somewhere remote has done it.. I hated the training, and hated every single time I did it, under orders.. I will NEVER do it for fun - it is not fun. I get sufficient of a rush, just looking at my love's face, as she sleeps.

There is no such thing as a "perfectly good airplane", and if you look at a lot of the planes used for skydiving, I would rather jump! It is a lot of fun and would recommend it. You will be probably be making a tandem dive or what is called accelerated free fall. Either one is a blast. I have about 600 jumps and about 300 hours flying jumpers (and wore a parachute while flying the plane, just in case). Enjoy!!!

It's perfectly good in my book so long as there's no reason I need to be jumping out of it.

Sounds like it's "impressing the girl" time.
