Bug Shields

Does anyone know what the difference is between these two FORD Bug Shields?

F-150 Accessories Catalog

Page 4-5

Item's 3 & 4

3. Low Profile Wrap Around Bug Shiled 16C900

4. High Profile Wrao Around Bug Shield 16c900

Ok, so I see that one says low and one high, but with the pictures they both look the same.

What is the difference between the two?

Which one is better?

Which one actually looks the nicest?

What is a good price for them (Installed/Non Installed)?

Thanks in advance!

Dave

PS Would you go with the side window deflectors, not sure if I like them or not...

Thanks again!

The lo profile shields are about 1/2" shorter than the others.

Seems like $40-$50 is about right for most of the brand name shields I've seen. Install time should be .5 hour.

Thanks BigZeff

Which one do you think looks better?

Most functional?

Maybe the extra inch would give you more lift over cab?

Thanks,

Dave

My opinion, the lo profile looks better, but the hi-profile probably works better.

Get the low profile. Less likely to get hood shake (do a search).

After vowing to never go back to the dealer around the corner from me (Greenway Ford), I was in a pinch and they were the only dealer in Orlando that had the bug shields in stock. Their part guy told me $84. I said that was insane and $20 more than the other dealers here were charging. Needless to say I walked out, vowing once again to never return! I ended up buying the "Lund" and am very pleased with it. It was a easy install as well.

Thanks for the input, does it say "Lund" on it? Someone recommended a Stainless Steel

stainless or chrome are just more $$$. I'd stick with plastic.

You can check mine out on my gallery. I have AVS(AutoVentShade)I would think this is low profile(they may even make it for Ford)

from Pep Boys(believe it was less than $50). Pretty easy to install(just have to remove grill). IMO I haven't seen any that look better.I still get some bugs on the windshield, but I bought it for looks and hood protection. It's also good quality(had same brand on last 2 trucks w/o problems)and fits PERFECTLY. I also have weather flectors vent visors, excellent quality and fit. About $100 for crew set though. Only prob., they come straight down by mirror, and gets in your visual SLIGHTLY to the pass. mirror

ITDave, it does have a "Lund" chrome gel pad, about 2 inches wide. At first, I didn't think I wanted it on the smoke bugshield with my black truck. But it actually looks great and blends in with the chrome headlamp fixture.
