HVAC self test

HVAC self test
I have a '98 Explorer and would like to run the HVAC system self test. Can anyone give me the sequence of controls to press, to run the test? I suspect a blendor door problem, but I thought maybe I could confirm, or get a different answer, without getting too far into it, yet.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Self test procedure:
Before starting the self test, stabilize temperature between 40 and 90 degrees. Make sure ignition is in the "RUN" position.
Simultaneously press the "OFF" and "FLOOR" buttons, then release and within in 2 seconds press the "AUTO" button.
All segments will light up if self test completes with no failures.
To exit the self test and save all trouble codes, press the blue "COOL" button.
To exit the self test and clear all trouble codes, press the "DEF" button.
Good luck.
