cruise control switches replaced.Whats next.
My cruise control is inop. Read all the threads I could to troubleshoot it with the self test. Here is what's happened. At first there was no lights at all to the self test. Replaced the switch on the master cylinder. Ordered a ford kit to include the new harness and the switch. I got a bag with two harness' and no switch. So they gave me a non ford part for the switch. so now I have power and run the self test. Right side switches do not cause the dash light to flash. RES/SET ACCEL/COAST. Replaced the switches and now we get a light on RES but not SET ACCEL/COAST. Any hint on which way to go with this? I never did find the original thread with the diagnostic verbiage to it.
Jim
Update: I kept trying to repeat the self test and got something different to happen. After a few try's depressing the coast switch made a noise under the hood and the set accel would flash twice. tried it again and the the servo test on the set accel worked. repeated it again and there was no noise under the hood and no servo. Repeating the test over and over would lead to either the servo test working or not working

To many things described and to much past history.
Look at the issue from the present failing test only.
Are you doing the correct test sequence?
Key to Run, press the OFF switch.
Cruise lamp flashes once to tell you it entered diagnostics.
Go to ON, RESUME, COAST, and SET/ACCEL in that order.
The servo will operate on the last button.
Do not allow more than a few seconds between switch operations.
.
What flash code did you see from the Cruise lamp after the tests were completed.
This is all you want to know plus any non operation noted.

Side note: If you see the CC stop working after you get on the road after engine bay heats up, the pressure switch is at fault. Replace with an OEM Ford part.
Good luck.

The proper sequence on the switches is being run. On the activation of the set/accel switch I either pass the test, one flash and the servo test kicks in, or I get two flashes in total and no servo test. I will admit that I do not know if it is a flash for the switch activation and then one diagnostic flash, or if it is two flashes. However it is supposed to be counted after the switch is depressed there are two flashes.
