I know this is an emotional issue for some, even though there are almost no WWII veterans around anymore and those are the ONLY ones that I would cut any slack on this subject. For everyone else, please try to be logical.
How "American" is a Dodge, owned by Daimler, and assembled in Canada?
How "foreign" is a Toyota, built in California by UAW workers right along side Pontiacs?

Uh, I believe that the mivivans are built here and a few of the car lines but most or all the trucks are American made. But in that case, how American are Fords being built in Canada? We have 7 and all say made in Canada except the '78.
I like cars and trucks from all different makes, even some imports are nice. Some people being loyal to only one brand is fine with me.
It's the retarded, extremely rabid and loyal fans that drive me nuts. The kind of people that hate any other car/truck on earth just because it isn't a Ford or whatever they like. The same kinda people that when you ask them why they don't like them reply "Cause they suck" or "Cause they're junk" Yet the only reason they can give is for not likingthem is "Cause it's a chevy" or whatever.
I am long past the stage where I care what others think of what I drive. I always buy, and will continue to buy, whatever suits my fancy and my wallet. I currently have two Fords in my driveway (one with 68 miles), but I don't know what my next one will be.

I'm a loyal Ford truck man , but when it comes to cars I like many diff makes. Right now I own an 87 & 97 Olds Cut., 2000 Olds Brav., and my baby 2003 F250 4x4 6.0
I find that consumers are straying away from brand loyalties and purchasing trendy vehicles. I can ride up and down my parish and every house has just about 2 different brand names vehicles. The only time I ever see a household with one particular brand is usually Ford or Chevrolet. I find that the younger generation do not have the same loyalty to brands as our fathers and grandfather did.
As for me my Fords always out lasted any other vehicles. My family has owned Fords, Chevrolets, MGB, Nissan, Toyota & Jeep. No one can put together comfort, power, durability and style together better than Ford. My father's '95 F-150 had 394,000 miles on it and it was still going strong. My '84 F-150 has 175,000 miles and it runs like a son-of-a-bitch. My neighbor's Tauras has 235,000 miles and still purrs. A friend of mine had a Toyota Corolla with 189,000 miles and it was still running but honestly it felt like it was a little tired. The Fords I have been around are flat out heads above the rest. That's my 2 cents anyway.
Y'know even though I never plan on owning one I have to hand it to Honda, a friend has an '89 Civic DX Hatch that he bought for 200bucks from my bro's friend and it has around 330,000 km and it does not feel tired yet, they have a pretty good drivetrain as far as reliability goes but they just aren't a real car in my books, just a toy.
