Need help with lug/hub centric... wheels issue

So I know the difference. I understand all the problems with going lug-centric on a hub-centric vehicle. Problem is as I've said before this is my first big *** truck. I'm not going to pull the same BS I did on my 79 Datsun with 6 lugs on this thing. I found a set of wheels I like (NEW!!!) and a place that sells tires locally for the same price as Treadwrite (Nittos even!) but the wheels aren't hub-centric. Now I wouldn't expect them to make them that way for every vehicle but at the size of our trucks (any company, Ford, Dodge, Chevy) it seems like they would be a little more specific. So basically what I'm wanting to know is if I get these I can take off my 2 inch spacers and slap these on and not kill everyone or myself if a wheel falls off.

I think a lot of people are running lug centric and if you have spacers now it would be a step in the right direction.

Thumbs up

You do not tow, right?

I think those will look awesome with your (new) side steps.

I'm opting out of (buying) the side-steps. I'm going to get the wheels and take a drive down to GA in about 2 weeks on my new wheels and tires and pick up a set of slightly used (well about 2 week old) steps from a guy I know... I have his zip code and I know what he drives, should be easy enough...

But seriously, no I don't tow I'm going to be stepping up to some 305's and to some better steps too

Taking his will be much cheaper, all I will have to pay for is gas to get down there and back... I wonder what wheels and tires he's running, might just kill 2 birds with.... Hmmmmm.... hey Mecdac...

One would think that if the wheels have the proper 8x170 mm lug pattern, that they'd have the proper hub centerbore to be hub centric.

There is only one vehicle with the 8x170 mm bolt pattern: The Ford SuperDuty.
After that, you only have two possibilities: Zero Offset (1999-2004) and positive offset (2005+)

Many aftermarket wheels have a one size fits all center bore to save money.
