been looking for a truck for a little while now, asked once about 89 f250 4x4, with 5.0, and was suggested I look a little longer, since I will be doing a little towing sometimes, I recently found a 76 F250, 4x4, 390, AT, for $900, runs pretty good, only obvious probs are need of a good paint job, a little rust, and a leaking transmission seal, I think this will do well for me, anyone care to voice an opinion, to either confirm my choice, or suggest I look further?...thanks, think this sight is great, and have found a lot of good info here
I personally have never met someone who has driven a 73-79 and NOT fallen in love with the trucks. they are one of the best built, best driving trucks on the road -- by all means get it! you won't be sorry!
73-79 Ford trucks are the best trucks ever made! A 76 F250 4x4 that runs good and is in decent shape is an excellent deal for $900! If I were you, I'd buy it.
many thanks too all of you...I already love these trucks, have a 75 f100 already, but only good cab and running gear, needs much to be usable, bought it as a project to build to my liking, also have a rusty old 79 Bronco I drove for years, planning on using the two of them to build a cool mean pickup, just wasn't too sure if this was a decent buy or not for the f250, forgot to mention, it has a flatbed on it, but I figured I could swap the bed from the f100, the flatbed is pretty decent, but can't haul much, and right now I am needing to haul some things, and always have liked regular beds better anyway, once again, thanks for your advice, will be getting it in the morning then
