I've been looking at little things to kinda give me a little extra go in my 97 F-150 4.6 4x4, Im doing a little hauling with it (mud truck on trailer the one im pulling now is a little jeep truck but ill have my old 77 done soon) so im looking something that will help me when towing, any suggestions on a good chip or programmer? or anything else i could do for a little more go when hauling something

I put an Edge evolution CS in my Expy and love it. Gave a noticeable power increase, way better gas mileage, and I can monitor just about anything to do with the truck. My mileage went from 12-13 city to over 15 and from 16-18 hwy to 22+mpg, and if I goose it from a red light it will chirp all 4 tires. That is on level 2 also, never even tried level 3 yet... Also with the Evolution you can get custom tunes done, not just the factory tunes that it comes with.

Thanks for the reply, i was looking at the SCT and a Hypertech im not really looking for a big performance gain and may not even run it while normal driving, its just ill have a 77 F-150 on a trailed prolly 8000 pounds behind it and some of the races i will be traveling to have some slight hilly terrain

I've had the CS for about two years now, and have had it on level 2 for the past year.
I can't say that the milage or performance gain is huge, but it is noticeable, however, it does firm up the shift points quite a bit, which is perfect for towing 3000# or more. Without a trailer, the shifting is too hard for me under brisk acceleration, which distracts from the power increase. You can adjust the shifting firmness parameters, though, which I haven't done yet.

I haven't tried the level 3 yet, either.

I suspect that with a few other mods like headers/exhaust, the performance gain would be more noticeable.

On your edge CS, how does it mount in the cab?
Would you mind posting a pic?
I am thinking about getting the f150 edge for my expedition (like what you did)

That looks like a pretty sharp pod they make for the CS. Thanks for the pic.

you're welcome, it originally comes in black, but I went to the auto parts store and found the closest match to the tan I could find. It is just a shade lighter than the factory tan. It was paint for desert camo.
