I'm not sure who said it was popular but you've probably seen some without realizing it. They don't stick out unless you know what too look for. The biggest tipoff is the two running lights on either side of the rear wheel opening. The other is the wider rear offset (5" wider axle in the back). I never noticed them before I got one, either. Now I see the occasional one.

The axle used under the QS models is actually heavier duty than the standard axle so it'd be a better choice for HD applications. It's a pretty simple system on the end of the axles, pretty much just like the front axle on a SD. The electronic system that steers the rear wheels is obviously quite a bit different, though.

While Ford is my first choice for trucks (owned '76 F-150, '88 F-150, now drive '04 F-350), I am glad that GM is out there trying new and unusual stuff. Even if it dosen't work, it makes everyone else make a better truck.

Yes, as you can see from my location, I live in Australia, and I have a friend with an R33 GT-R.
Skylines are quite popular in Australia, a lot get privately imported.
I am prehaps going to step on my toes when I say this (and cause some debate), but from the cars I have driven the GT-R Skyline is the best car (not truck) produced in the 90's.
The V-spec versions would lap the Nurburgring in under 8 mins... (as quick as a Porsche 911 Turbo, at a 1/3 of the price)

i think it could be nice to have. i can back a trailer fine as it is, but id take anything to make it easier, and it would be good for those tight parking spots instead of passing by looking for one a mile away from the store. but like said before, its just one more thing that can go wrong, and i would think anything dealing with drivetrain would be the last thing id want to go wrong.

I would like to see it as an option. For the most part I only buy 4x4's. If a quadra steer option was available for the SD though I would consider a 4x2 tow truck only.

Why is that? I got the 4x4 Quadrasteer. I don't think QS makes up for only having 2wd so I'm curious why you'd give up one for the other. Cost?

I'm not saying it can't be used on a 4x4 but I really start to wory about reliabilty in this type of application. And I really only think I would benefit from it in towing applications. With a tow only rig I really don't need a 4x4. Plua I'm looking at a F350 supercrew dually.

For backing up trailers the QS is really only gonna help out the unexperienced. I have never had try more then once to get a trailor into a spot i wanted (as long as the trailor fits and it never takes longer than 5mintues to boot.)

Odd, I've never seen a stupid Truck. I've seen a few that makes me question the intellect of the owner. I could say the same thing about some posts.

I think QS would be a handy option, but hardly necessary for those of us who can competently back a trailer. However, if I was doing a lot of towing, it would be really nice to have.

"I am glad that GM is out there trying new and unusual stuff." i'd have to say that Quad steering is hardly NEW as Nash had quad steering in their trucks in 1918
