I installed component speakers in the front of mine. The mids are 6 1/2" round and the tweeters are mounted in the trim peice at the top of the door. I mounted the crossover in the rear section of the door pocket. The model # is 6000 CS. I made my own mounting plate out of a peice of 1/4" plywood but they seel them at Crutchfield. I also installed the 6802's in the rear doors. They all fit with no issues at all. The sound quality is awesome with the MACH head unit and... YES it will make your ears bleed (the highs are incredible). For anyone who is doing a speaker swap... I would highly recomend a component front speaker setup in the front. It will cost you a little more up front but it's definately worth it. I also changed out the sub for a Sony 8". This also made a huge difference! This is an easy do it yourself project and by far one of the more enjoyable mods I have done.... Next to my chip!

Couple questions????
What kind of chip did you get?
What year is your Expy?
The 6802's are Infinity right? and they fit in the rear doors?
The 6 1/2 components install easily?
I wanted to build a infinity system and decided to go with Polk Audio's because research was showing that was all that fit. CRAP!
Where did you find the 8" sony, and was it hard to replace?
on crutchfield, it's the only 8" explod model they sell i think, i got it in the scratch and dent store, which basically means the box was a little torn, but teh speaker was perfect, that dropped the price to 40, it was easy enough to replace, however, sony uses a pentagon shape to their subs, so the mounting holes are not at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 positions, look at a picture and you will see what i mean, and also it is a tiny bit too big for the mounting hole in the expy, so i ended up placing it in the whole as well as i could, then screwing it in using some long screws, no problems then, sounds great, much better than the old sub...i have 2 kenwood 6*8 speakers i got on ebay that i will be putting in the front doors tonight, i'll post tomorrow how they sound..

Thanks for your time.
I got a Hypertech Chip. I have a 97 EB Expy with all the goodies including overhead DVD and sunroof! Yes the 6802's are Infinities..... they fit fine with no modifications. They sound great! The compenents in the front were a little challenging. I mounted the Dome tweeter on the sail panel pointed directly outward. The have a bit of an angle to them so they point out and inward at the same time. They look sweet. I made a plate for the 6x8 hole out of 1/4 " plywood. I then cut out the 6 1/2" hole. I made sure the speaker would line up with the grill in the door correctly. I mounted the crossover in the rear section of the door pocket on the little ledge that is there. I ran all the wiring directly into the door panel and taped it to the rear of the door panel. I used a factory plug to tap into the factory speaker plug and ran it to the crossover. them ran the appropriate wiring to the correct speakers. There are 2 settings for your tweeter...... you can tune it to your liking. It took me about 2 hrs to make all the harnesses and install the speakers..(including the rear doors. I even made a disconnect so I can take the door panel off without having to unplug the speaker. I placed it directly under the power window switch. When I remove the window switch to remmove the door panel all I have to do is unplug the harness and take the door panel off! Hope this helps a bit.....The entire install looks factory except for the sweet looking dome tweeters on the sail panel.
