My Mach Audio system is dead and I am wondering just what I can use to replace it. I have a F87F-18C868-AD but there are other variations with different last two letters in the model number. Can anyone tell me just what all is available and what the differences will be. I am looking at a F87F-18C868-CE but I don't know what the difference will be from my old one.
I have a 98 Explorer Eddie Bauer. It is more than just a fuse. My Ford dealer sent the radio to be fixed and they said they had to send it in to Pioneer? and it would cost me 450.00. What other options do you suggest besides replacing it with OEM?
$450 to have your radio repaired!!!!!!!!!!!! You can get an awsome aftermarket radio for $200-$300. If it's just the radio you can get an adapter so you can use an aftermarket radio with the stock amps.
The F87F-18c868-CE is NOT AM stereo while the AD is. This is the only difference between the two. I have replaced the AD with the CE in my wife's 1998 Mountaineer and all the functions work as before.
You may try auto salvage yards as I found a CE for $200 recently. Many offer a 30-day warranty.
I don't know if you already replaced your radio but I found a replacement on ebay from a person that up graded there old radio and I only paid $30 bucks getting lucky on a auction. So before you try a salvage yard and pay hundreds of dollars see your different online auctions for a possible steal. I am not promoting ebay just was the resoure that I found my replacement. Try all your options and you may come out with a cheaper resolution.
good luck
