Hello, I am a new Bronco II owner and new to this site. I just purchased a 1986 Bronco II and I want to do some work on the interior. The dash pad is cracked and faded and I prefer to replace it all together, but all I have seen to buy on the internet are dash cap pads. Has anyone used a dash cap? Are there any other options?
Here are my other issues:
I also want to replace the arm rests and possibly the door panels.
The visors are also droopy.
There is no fuse box cover
no rear speaker covers
Are there any great sites to buy interior parts? I have been to a couple of sites, but they all have a part here and there and not much to choose from.
Thanks for any advice.
Like the previous message said, hit the junk yards I'm sure you will find what you need. I also do a "trial run" at the junk yards on what I plan to do at home. That way if you break something it's a lesson learned and you move on to the next junker to do it right and refine your technique.
On the visors, it's a quick fix.....
Remove the visor units (3 screws each).
Remove visors from the metal units.
Rotate both visor assembly arms 180 degrees so previous driver side assembly now fits passenger side and previous passenger side assembly now fits driver side.
Reinstall visors to correct sides prior to putting back on vehicle.
Reinstall on vehicle.
Visors now work like brand new, you'll be amazed !!
good tip on the visors, im gonna have to try that one, also something pretty neat to do to the interior is die the carpet on the door panels black, it looks really good and seems to add something that you wouldnt know it was dyed unless you studied the car before hand
