Part Numbers for ECM Why different/?

when calling around for my ECM, i'm asked the part # since theres
2 listed a F7TF-12A650-TB OR another is the same other then the TB is now TA...
Whast the difference??
Will other years work?? Or does Ford have a upgrade year after year?

You can use other year model computers, but since you have single shot injectors you should stick with a 96-97.
