There's a Vortec Supercharger for our 4.2's, but I can't remember where to get it. Garrett knows where to get it because he owns one. They are a pain in the butt from the start, but once all the bugs are worked out, they seem to work really nice. Wait for Garrett's (aka: Horizon Huskies) reply.
I got curious and I emailed Crash at Trixters racing, and he said they cancelled the supercharger project because they have a turbo that is much easier.
This turbo idea has been going on for 1-2 months, and still no prototype. Thats right, its just on paper. The company he is working with is STS. As of today, there is NO such thing as a turbo kit for the 4.2L.
The reason the Vortech was cancelled, was because of me. I showed Crash/Derek how HARD this kit was to install. The manufacturer did a horrible job of sending out the kit. It took me 5 working DAYS to get it installed. So much for a bolt-on kit.
I dont want this to discourage anyone though. As I have already stated, EVERY bug has been worked out. The belt is run correctly, the MAF is located in the stock position, and it is a PROVEN kit. If you can show me where this turbo kit is proven, I will retract this statement.
By the way, the supercharger project they had was an ATI procharger kit, which was abandoned. The Vortech was discontinued, once again, because of my situation.
I can tell you right now a guy named Brad was the prototype for Crash.
Austin, aka Streetcruiser, who is a good friend of mine, built his OWN remote setup and is not affiliated with STS in any way. So unless they built one in 3 days, I appologize.
